ALLAHABAD: Students from across the state exhibited innovative models during the two-day state level science exhibition organised by Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. The exhibition concluded on Sunday.
The students displayed various exhibits designed by them at IIIT-A campus. These exhibits included innovative applications of technologies like remote control and cellphone for tasks like hoisting flags, operating agriculture pump sets, and hydraulic excavators. An alarm device to help the visually challenged cross the road was the centre of attraction at the exhibition. The presentations on rain water harvesting and wind energy left the judges quite impressed.
Speaking on the occasion, director, IIIT-A, Dr M D Tiwari congratulated the participating students and encouraged them to make a career in the area of fundamental science.
The participating students had come from over 31 districts of the state including, Agra, Aligarh, Budaun, Bareilly, Ghaziabad, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow and Sitapur. For the final round of INSPIRE award scheme, sponsored by DoST (department of science and technology), fifty students have been selected at the state level by 12 jury members.
